Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home - ColumbianaColumbiana - Douglas Heasley, affectionately known as “Papa”, age 76, of Columbiana, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Windsor House at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana.
He was born on November 4, 1949, in New Castle, PA, a son of the late Daniel and Pauline Williamson Heasley.
Doug had worked as a truck driver for various companies over the years that included Corey Oil and D & E Oil. Papa enjoyed coaching his children during their youth sports and was an avid Columbiana Schools sports fan and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He, himself, enjoyed playing adult softball and golfing. Doug also enjoyed hunting with his family and close friends at their hunting camp in PA. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and loved attending the Canfield Fair where he enjoyed watching his family both show Hackney ponies and compete in harness horse racing. Mostly, Papa enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren, Cole and Ava. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Doug is survived by his son, Shane (Tricia) Heasley of Canfield; daughter, Erin Heasley of Columbiana; brother, Dale Heasley of Raymond, MS; granddaughter, Paiton (fiancé, Cory DeyErmand) Heasley of Poland; two great-grandchildren, Cole David and Ava Leigh; the mother of his children, Bonnie Wilkinson of Columbiana, and by his special friend, Ric Lee of Columbiana. Doug is also survived by many extended family members and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Daniel Heasley, Dorothy Gizzi, David Heasley, Donald Heasley, and Doris Heasley.
The family will be holding a celebration of Doug’s life on Saturday, March 7, 2026, starting at 3:00 pm, at the Canfield Fairgrounds, Greenford Ruritan building #23.
Memorial donations may be made in Doug’s memory to the: Columbiana Athletic Dept, 700 Columbiana-Waterford Rd., Columbiana, OH 44408.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Health Care Center for the kind and compassionate care they showed both to Doug and his family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
