Douglas William Higgins, known to many as Doug, was born on September 9, 1970, in Needham, Massachusetts, and died at home on January 29, 2026. Doug was the son of Clay Higgins of Howell, NJ and Maureen Higgins of Swampscott MA. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of nearly 32 years, Mary (Ostrowski) Higgins and his sister Nicole Higgins. Doug was predeceased by his beloved toy poodle Henry Higgins in 2023.
Doug was so much more than people could see on the outside. He was incredibly intelligent and enjoyed learning. His ability to synthesize information was a talent few people have. His ability to remember perfectly the lines from shows he watched and recite them to entertain his wife, always made her smile.
Remembering Douglas and celebrating his life is not an ending, but a continuation of the love and joy he brought into our lives. His legacy lives on through his wife, Mary Higgins, and the countless lives he touched. The Mack Family Funeral Homes, Gardner - Chapel, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA, is honored to help commemorate his life.
We invite you to share your memories of Doug and upload photos to the memorial page. Each reminiscence, each snapshot, is a testament to a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a spirit never forgotten.
