Scott A. Thibeau, 58, of Athol, died peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health.

Born in Leominster on October 22, 1967, he was the son of Joseph D. Thibeau of Gardner and the late Linda D. (Boyer) Thibeau. Scott was a graduate of Gardner High School, Class of 1986, where he proudly played on the football team as part of the "Beef Brothers" line, earning him the nickname "Dozer." He went on to further his education, earning an associate degree from Mount Wachusett Community College and a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University, both in Information Technology.

For many years, Scott was employed by Montachusett Area Regional Transportation (MART), where he served as a transportation coordinator. Scott, along with his wife, Shelly, also owned and operated Scott's Cleaning Service of Gardner for many years.

Scott truly lived life to the fullest. He found great joy in traveling in his motor home, settling in with a good book, and immersing himself in his many interests. He had a rich and vibrant imagination and enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons, often serving as the Dungeon Master for his campaigns. He spent many summers at Camp Split Rock on Lake Winnekeag in Ashburnham, where he served as a camp counselor with the Boy Scouts of America and taught archery. Creative by nature and following in his father's footsteps, Scott enjoyed small woodworking projects. He was a wizard with computers and the go-to person both at home and at work.

Scott loved all things football-from playing Pop Warner, to being a Wildcat on the Gardner High School football team, to running football camps, and watching "all the games." Through it all, he remained a loyal and enthusiastic fan of the New England Patriots.

Above all else, Scott's greatest pride and joy were his wife, daughter, and granddaughter, cherishing the laughter, memories, and love they shared together.

In addition to his father, Scott is survived by his wife, Shelly D. (Valcourt) Thibeau of Athol; his daughter, Isabella G. Valcourt of Keaau, Hawaii; his cherished granddaughter, Octavia S. Valcourt; his sisters, Nicole M. (Thibeau) Lubao and her husband, Bernard H., of Athol, and Marcie L. (Thibeau) Lambert of Winchendon; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial contributions be made to the Gardner High School Football Boosters, 200 Catherine Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Please reference In Memory of Scott A. Thibeau.
