William F. "Bill" Miller, 70, died peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He is the beloved husband of Karen (Lucia) Miller with whom he shared 41 years of marriage with but has been a true lifelong love since Junior High School.
Bill was born in
Boston, Massachusetts on September 30, 1955 and is the son of Joan (MCkeon) Miller and the late William Miller. He received his education in the Medford, Massachusetts School System and was a graduate of Medford High School. He continued his education attending college at Sumter Area Technical College in South Carolina and completed his schooling at Northeastern University where he earned his certificate.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force toward the end of the Vietnam War era. During his service, he worked as a jet engine mechanic and was honorably discharged in July 1980 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He spent more than 40 years working as a petroleum engineer, helping build gas stations in communities throughout the area. He was deeply dedicated to his work and admired for the knowledge and skill he brought to his craft.
Bill had many passions throughout his life. He loved music, especially his favorite band, the Rolling Stones, and enjoyed spending time with his wife, Karen, making their weekly trips to the flea market in Arundel, Maine. Bill was also an avid Boston Celtics fan and greatly admired Larry Bird. He was known for his talent in knife and axe throwing and found great joy in the outdoors. Bill was always captivated by the beauty of nature, whether visiting the vast ocean, the Saco River in Maine, or the mountains of New Hampshire, especially his favorite, Wildcat Mountain. One of the highlights of each year was his birthday trip to the Fryeburg Fair in Maine, an event he eagerly looked forward to. In his younger years, he fondly remembered playing basketball at Dugga Park in Medford, a memory he cherished. Bill will be deeply missed by so many for his amazingly funny, outgoing, and loving personality. He had a special gift for making people laugh, and his warmth could be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Above all, Bill loved his family deeply; his wife, children, grandchildren, and his mother, whom he made sure to call every day. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
