Douglas Howard Floyd Jones, 38, of Stephens City, VA left this world unexpectedly Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Douglas was born May 10, 1985 in Bennington, VT, the son of Douglas G. Jones and the late Gayle M. Jones. Douglas was raised in Buskirk, NY and attended Cambridge Central High School in Cambridge, NY until his freshman year. Douglas and his family moved to Stephens City in 2000, where he went on to graduate from Sherando High School in 2003.
Douglas worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and was a jack of all trades. He was a family man and loved his wife and children endlessly. Douglas loved fishing and the shooting range. When those two things were not an option, he loved to sing a good ole country song. Douglas touched every life he encountered in some way.
Along with his wife, Carolyn Ann Jones, Douglas is survived by his children, Kiersten R. Sowers (Justin), Jacob T. Jones, Dakota D. Jones, Hanna V. G. Jones, Isabel G. Jones, Waylon T. Jones; father, Douglas G. Jones (Zelda); sisters, Autumn M. Downing (Glenn), Amie L. Thompson (Travis), April S. Clot (Dan); step brothers, Michael Clark, Matthew Fishel, Brian Fishel, numerous nieces and nephews, and one great nephew in which he loved endlessly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Jones as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at the family's discretion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Douglas' name to Jones Funeral Home to help with funeral costs. 228 S Pleasant Valley Road Winchester, VA 22601
