Douglas "Doug" Jorgenson, age 62, of Waterville, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his residence May 4, 2024.
Doug was born on September 20, 1961, in Marysville, to Maurice and June (Mapes) Jorgenson. He graduated from Linn High School in 1979. On May 7, 1988, he married Nancy J. Nudson at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waterville.
Doug enjoyed being on his farm and worked hard to provide for his family. He was an animal lover, but especially loved his dogs, Princess and Molly. They took many rides together and shared a love for loud 80’s rock. Proud husband, dad and grandpa; he never missed an opportunity to show up for his family. His friends were a special part of his life. He cherished their time together (most likely over a cup of coffee) and would do anything to help a friend or neighbor.
Survivors include his wife Nancy, his children Aimee (Lance) Volle of Beatrice, Nebraska, Wendy Padgett of Waterville, Lindsay (Chris) Seems of Kansas City, Missouri and Lane Jorgenson of Blue Rapids, six grandchildren: Anissa, Wade, Leah, Jake, Phentyn and Charlie, two great grandchildren: Ayden and Bentley, and by two brothers: Michael (Cindy) Jorgenson of Waterville and Benji (Linda) Jorgenson of Randolph.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and June, an infant son Colton and a brother Gary Jorgenson.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville. The funeral home will be open at noon for respect calls.
A committal service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately afterward at the Waterville Community Center.
