Douglas Karr Obituary

Douglas K. Karr
July 23, 1952 - September 8, 2025
Douglas K. Karr passed away September 8, 2025 after a three-year battle with lung cancer. He was born July 23, 1952 in LeMars, IA. Preceded in death by his parents Weston and Edna Karr, and mother-in-law, Eda Tomasetti.
Douglas is survived by Linda, his best friend and loving wife of 43 years; children, Kari and Rich Van Dam, Kory and Lisa Karr, all in Iowa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; brother of Kendall and Karen Karr, of Iowa; brother-in-law of Peter and Cathy Tomasetti of Petaluma; nephews, John and Dave Karr of Iowa.
In 1978, Douglas moved from Iowa to California. A true craftsman, he spent most of his life in the construction trades. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies. An avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and alumni of the University of Iowa. Douglas was a faithful 49er fan and loved watching games with friends.
The family extends their thanks to Dr. Leoni and the supportive staff at PVH.
Honoring his wishes no services will be held.
