Douglas Maier Obituary
Doug was born May 13, 1959 in Des Moines to Albert and Louisa Maier. He was a lifelong resident in the Des Moines area.
Doug graduated early from East High in 1976 and later served his country in the Air Force between 1979 and 1981. After that, Doug was self employed and ran an advertising company, Advertising Specialties, from his home for 40 years. He cherished his cats, especially Big Boy. His yard always had temporary winter shelters for any strays that came his way.
Doug is survived by his sister, Linda Maier, several cousins who cared deeply for him, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his brother Steve Maier, his parents Albert and Louisa Maier, and the Uncle and Aunt that raised him, Gary and Carol Maier.
At his request, no services are planned.
