Douglas George Martin

Douglas G. Martin Passed on suddenly but peacefully Feb. 13 from an aneurysm, taking his final breath surrounded by his loved ones. Doug is survived by his children Stephen (Jackie), Michael (Marie), Patricia (Duane) and Pamela. He was treasured by his grandchildren Kenneth and Joelle Martin and Ashley Nishimoto. He will be dearly missed by his longtime companion Dolly Ellison. He was predeceased by Alice Louise, his wife of 25 years. Doug was born in San Francisco on January 19, 1930, attended Sacred Heart High School, and served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Thompson Aircraft and then the City of San Francisco, first with Muni and then the airport. He was most proud of his role as Grandpa. He leaves many friends known through golf, senior softball, Sea Bowl, Yet Wah Diamond Heights, Camp Mather, 49er games, NSGW and SIRS. The memory of Doug and his unlit cigar will remain within all of us who loved him. A service will be held Friday, February 20, at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. Viewing will begin at noon, with a service commencing at 1:00. A reception will follow at Yet Wah Diamond Heights.
