Douglas “Doug” Mathieson age 74, of Green Bay, WI, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center in Green Bay, WI.
He was born on January 12, 1951 in Denmark, WI, son of the late Gordon and Olive (Bursek) Mathieson.
Doug was a District manager for Gannett Paper Company in Appleton, WI until the time of his retirement. After his retirement, he continued his education at University of Wisconsin in Green Bay. Doug enjoyed mountain cycling and successfully participated and placed in the Chequamegon Fat Tire in Cable, WI.
Doug was a great conversationist and avid learner. He had a passion for racing, both car and cycling, balancing the thrill of the ride with a great appreciation for fine dining and classical music. He was a man who wore a dress suit impeccably well, and from that he would throw on a head bandana and go mow the lawn in the middle of the night.
Doug is survived by a brother Lee Mathieson of Denmark, WI; one sister Jackie Schaffer of Wautoma, WI; one niece Nicole (Andrew) Webnar of Broadhead, WI; one nephew Adam Mathieson; significant other Vicki Lind of De Pere, WI and her children Mitchell, Jordan and Claira.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Co. Road R, Denmark, WI 54208 from 9:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Deacon Bernie Terrien officiating. Burial will be Allouez Catholic Cemetery in Green Bay, WI.
