Douglas S. "Doug" McClaflin, 64, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Douglas Scott McClaflin was born on March 26, 1961 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to John Wayne and Zelma Dolly (Sagers) McClaflin. He was a 1979 graduate of Andrew Community High School. He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Eggers in 1984 in Jackson County, Iowa.

Doug had worked as a carpenter all his life. In 2008 he founded Northfork Construction, until he retired in January of 2023.

Doug had a strong faith to the Lord and was a member of Faith Community Church in Maquoketa. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, fishing and trapping. He was a master carpenter who could fix anything.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jackie McClaflin of Maquoketa, IA; sisters, Brenda (Lowell) Carlson of Maquoketa, IA, and Denise Felderman of MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Faith Community Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Streets Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Douglas S. "Doug" McClaflin memorial fund has been established.
