Douglas Reginald McDaniel

Douglas Reginald (Doug) McDaniel, 82, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away September 24, 2025. Born April 5,1943 in Atlanta, Georgia to Blanton and Lillian McDaniel.

He was preceded in death by his brother Charles McDaniel, and his parents Blanton and Lillian McDaniel

Doug is survived by his wife, Claudette McClendon McDaniel; his daughters, Greta (Richard) Coram, Deanna (Timothy) Reynolds, Carman (Gorden Benny) Anderson; his grandchildren, Joshua (Julie) Anderson, Laney Anderson, Ashlyn (Logan) Hudson, Kathryn Reynolds, Laura Dole; great granddaughter Abigail Anderson. He is also survived by his sister Miriam "Dee" (Bill) Griffith and his nephew Bill (Deb) Crim.

Doug proudly served his county in the United States Army as an MP which led to his next career in law enforcement where he was a police officer for the Atlanta Police Department and Fulton County Police Department. He then worked in sales until his retirement.

Doug was a loyal and devoted servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He and Claudette were members of Roswell Church of God.

Doug loved listening to music, Christian music in particular. He loved playing the piano, which he learned by ear. He was an avid student of history and a huge college football fan. Regularly he would watch games with family and friends. Go Dawgs! In addition to football, he closely followed the Atlanta Braves.

Most of all Doug treasured time with his family and delighted in watching his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter grow up.
