Douglas Wayne Onofrey, 62, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was the husband of Lisa (Pelletier) Onofrey.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late William F. and Doris A. (Dube) Onofrey, raised in New Bedford he lived most of his life in Dartmouth.
Doug enjoyed playing hockey, watching football, traveling, cooking dinner, and spending time with his grandchildren. He could always be found at his grandkids sporting events.
Doug was a hard worker and was a mason for Dupre Incorporated for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa; his daughters Shayna Onofrey and her husband Steven Pacheco, Lauren Onofrey and her husband Paul Fernandes; his siblings, Dennis Onofrey, Kevin Onofrey, Vanessa Nobles and her husband Daryl; his grandchildren, Rashid, Cooper, Colby, Nevaeh, and Finley; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, and his siblings, William "Billy" Onofrey, Kenneth "Kenny" Onofrey and Gordon Onofrey.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday January 30th from 4-7 PM.
