PERIOR, Douglas E. – of Montrose, age 74, died peacefully at home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Honoring his wishes, cremation will be taking place. A private graveside service will be held.

Douglas was born on June 14, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Bud and Bonnie Sue (Brown) Perior, Sr. He graduated from Genesee High School with the class of 1969. Doug married the love of his life, Cherie Anderson, on October 28, 1972. Together they built a beautiful life, raising two sons and sharing 52 wonderful years filled with adventure, laughter, and love. Doug spent his entire life working in the family business, Perior Well Drilling. He began alongside his father at a young age and proudly carried on with the company after his father's retirement, serving his community for many years. In his free time, Doug enjoyed woodworking, restoring classic cars, playing cards, and traveling. He was known to all as "Papa Perior," always in the stands at his grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on with pride and joy. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by his family and friends, sharing stories and creating lasting memories together. Doug was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are: Loving wife, Cherie Perior; Sons: Brian (Tabi) Perior, and Trent (Rebecca) Perior; Grandchildren: Tatum, Marek, Nolan, Owen, and Ivin Perior; Brothers: Bud Perior, Jr., Paul Perior, and Keith (Mary) Perior; Sisters: Inga Keller, and Gloria (Shawn) Slattery; Brother-in-law, Gary (Mickey) Anderson; Sister-in-law, Lynne (Doug) Renshaw-Fikes; Many special nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and dear friends.
