Douglas Obrian Petty, 41, departed this life on Saturday March 15, 2025. He was born on June 3, 1983, in Lynchburg, Virginia to Brenda Petty Irving and Douglas Leon Pannell.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jake and Mildred Petty and his paternal grandparents, Marie Prunty and James Pannell. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his late aunt Vernna Petty and late uncle Gerald Pannell.
Douglas leaves to cherish his memories with his two sisters, Crystal Petty and Tiffany Jefferson (Montez) of Lynchburg, VA; and two brothers, Quincy Petty and Antonio Petty of Lynchburg, VA. He also leaves behind stepdad, Ronald Irving; five aunts, Jennifer Petty, Lajaynetts Petty, Georgia James (Stafford), Aberta Pannell of Lynchburg, VA and Ardelia Charlton (Clayton) of Rustburg, VA; and two uncles, Jake Petty Jr. and Gregory Petty of Lynchburg, VA. Additionally, he leaves devoted nephews; Jerry, Terry, and Darian Petty and niece Zahrya Terry along with a host of more nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Douglas truly lived his life to the fullest. He loved music and making jokes about anyone and everything. He even made a rap about going to the 7/11. He was truly full of joy and happiness.
A service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
