Doug was a 1975 Collinsville High School graduate. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jo Ann (nee Madison) Schmidt; a niece, Michelle Keller; and a nephew, Chris Keller.
He is survived by his brother, Larry (Norma) Schmidt of Collinsville, IL; two nieces: Maggie (Bruce) Carter of Blackwell, MO and Cindie (Mike) McEnroe of Bridgeton, MO; and a nephew, Kenny Keller of O'Fallon, IL.
Upon his wishes, Douglas will be cremated and no public services will be held.

Rest in Peace our friend, my husband knew him much better than myself but was a gentleman each and Everytime I was around. Thanks for being our friend. You will be missed!
