James Prediger Obituary

James worked as an insurance salesman for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. James honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ethel (nee Parker) Prediger; and a sister, Madelyn Timmermann.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Catherine (nee Bach) Prediger, whom he married on May 8, 1965; his daughter, Debbie Calvin of Collinsville, IL; two sons, Bruce Prediger of Maryville, IL, and Craig (Jennifer) Prediger of Alton, IL; five grandchildren, Sam and Josh Calvin, and Vincent, Frankie, and Olivia Prediger; and a sister, Chris (Ken) Van Sickle of Montana.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange, Maryville, IL, with Father Rob Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be received at the visitation or may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
