April 8, 1942 - January 5, 2026
It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Tasker, 83, on Monday, January 5, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Falls Church, Va. on April 8, 1942 to the late Wilbur Alvin Tasker and Margaret Lydia Swift Tasker.
Doug was a plumber for over 50 years and a lifetime member of the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Catherine Gutridge Tasker; daughters, Jody Howdyshell (Roger), Lisa Nokes (John), Denise Tasker (Dave Snarr); son, Kellen Tasker (Mara); grandchildren, William Tasker (Jennifer), Heather Nokes, Haley Penfield (Brandon), Shaun Altizer, Danielle Tyler (Marcus), Cheyenne Rushton, Wendy Folk (Mason), Melody Cordle, Ryan Tasker, Kaci Nokes, Camden Tasker, and Sophia Cordle; 10 great grandchildren, and two beloved pets, Rascal and Buttercup.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy, Ruth, Ellen, Billy, Buddy, John, and Ginny.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A celebration of life will follow at the Reva Fire Rescue, 18230 Bringham Rd, Culpeper, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations may be made in his name to the Reva Fire & Rescue Dept or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.

Earlier today
I am so sorry to read this, We have known Doug most of our life. We grew up in the same town, enjoyed the same friends and family and had lunch once a month with other retired locals from Falls Church that lived all over N. Va. and the Shenandoah Valley. I can close my eyes and see the young kid standing or sitting out in the front of the Falls Church Fire Dept. every single evening in the Spring and Summer. RIP my friend!
