We are so sorry to learn of Doug's passing. We have pleasant memories of meeting him at the DMP, on Madbury Road and on Mill Road over several decades.

Our cousin Doug lived life with a calm courage, the true depths of which most of us may only guess. I was privileged to meet him only a few times, and so long ago, but he imprinted his smile with remarkable permanence.

To the John Terrill family, you know we are with you, though no words can lessen this loss. Perhaps, though, there is some comfort in hoping that Winifred has just gained a new guest at her tea table.

Doug, will miss your smile, your laugh and your welcoming spirit. What an inspiring life you led. God's peace.

I will always remember taking a break with Dougie when I waitressed at Youngs. He knew all the old tv shows I use to watch and always made me laugh...He was Special! and will never be forgotten! Your Friend, Beth
