Our cousin Doug lived life with a calm courage, the true depths of which most of us may only guess. I was privileged to meet him only a few times, and so long ago, but he imprinted his smile with remarkable permanence.
To the John Terrill family, you know we are with you, though no words can lessen this loss. Perhaps, though, there is some comfort in hoping that Winifred has just gained a new guest at her tea table.

My Uncle Doug was an amazing Uncle and an inspiration to me. He was able to impact the lives of everyone he knew and was always able to put a smile on your face. He had the biggest heart, the widest smile and the strongest hug of anyone I know. I am proud to carry on his name in name and will miss him dearly. I love and miss you Uncle Doug!
