Douglas Willard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel on Dec. 6, 2025.
Douglas "Doug" Fred Willard, age 69, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was born September 4, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Katherine "Kitty" and Charles "Dutch" Willard. Doug graduated from Gordon Tech High School in 1974. After graduating he joined the Teamsters union and was a devoted employee for LL Karps & Sons for 30 years. He married Dianne Marie Willard in 1992 and they had four children.
Doug was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures-casting a line on a quiet lake, going deer hunting with his sons, bird watching, watching his favorite action movies, and spending time surrounded by the family he adored. He loved spending his time during the summer at home out in the pool in the backyard. His happiest moments were those shared with loved ones, whether at home or in the places that brought him peace, like the serene landscapes of Canada and his treasured retreat in northern Wisconsin.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne Willard, his children Stephanie, Hunter (Jill), Trent, and Chase, his cherished brother Timothy (Lori), and his two treasured grandchildren, Jonah and Jaxon, who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
Those who knew Doug will remember his warmth, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family. His presence filled every room with comfort, laughter, and strength, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, Doug's legacy lives on in the stories told, the traditions carried forward, and the love that binds his family together. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am with the service to follow at 11:00am on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 123 E. Saint Charles Road, Elmhurst IL, 60126.
