Doyle Hurt Obituary
Doyle was married to the love of his life – his "co-pilot", Mary J. Hurt for 54 years. He served his country in the U. S. Army from 1964-1967 and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is a Vietnam War Veteran and a cancer survivor. Doyle was retired from Paul Mueller Company after a 33-year career that saw him ascend from floor sweeper to Asst. Plant Superintendent.
"Big D" was a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, and loved any type of sports.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 54-1/2 years, Mary, his brother, Albert Hurt of Peoria, Il., and his sister, Carolyn Hurt of Springfield, MO. In, as well as their daughter, Sandra Spinelli and spouse of Weatherford, Texas, their son, Doyle "Wayne" Hurt Jr., and spouse of O'fallon, MO; five grandchildren, Christopher Patton, Kyron Patton, Karlye Thornhill, Caleb Hurt and Cody Hurt and four great grandchildren, Kinley Thornhill, Layla Patton, Hudson Patton, and Braelynn Patton.
Visitation and funeral services will take place at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Springfield, MO. Visitation is scheduled for Feb 24, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will commence on Feb 25, 2022 at 12:00 pm followed by graveside service at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery. The family asks that all flowers and gifts be sent to Greenlawn Funeral Home South. The family suggests memorial contributions in Doyle's name be made to a veterans charity of your choice or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
