Doyle Wayne “Pug” Shrable, 83, of Gepp, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, in Gepp, Arkansas. Wayne was born on November 21, 1940, to Paul Patrick Shrable and Wilma Marie (Clay) Shrable in Gepp, Arkansas.
Wayne married Mary Dean Schaufler on September 1, 1958, in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Wayne worked as a sign hanger with Associated Sign in Kansas City, Missouri for 33 years and later worked at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 11 years. Wayne loved his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Wayne loved the farm, raising cattle, fishing, camping, and bowling. While living in Kansas City he was a pillar of the community, serving as a Cub Master with the Cub Scouts, coaching his boys in the sports that they played, and volunteering with Minute Circle Community Center. Wayne was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend and attended the Viola Church of Christ in Viola, Arkansas.
Wayne leaves to mourn his passing wife, Mary Shrable of Gepp, Arkansas; two sons, Coy Shrable and wife Debbie of Gepp, Arkansas and Jeff Shrable and wife Karen of Gepp, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Porter and husband Shane of Norfork, Arkansas, Maegan Wagner and husband James of Gepp, Arkansas, P. J. Shrable and wife Jeneea of Gepp, Arkansas, Kylee Claypool and husband Cy of Gassville, Arkansas, and Jeana Hilkert and husband James of Gepp, Arkansas; twelve great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, January 29, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Alan Talburt officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. until time of service on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Custer-Herron Cemetery in Henderson, Arkansas. The pallbearers will be Coy Shrable, Jeff Shrable, P. J. Shrable, Aidan Shrable, James Wagner, Cy Claypool, Jackson Bullard, and Harrison Bullard. Memorials may be made to Childrens Homes Inc of Paragould, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
