He was born on February 13, 1930 in Headlee, IN to the late Isadore V. and Gloria M. (Snow) Roth. Doyle graduated from Royal Center High School in 1948. He served in the US Army Ready Reserve from 1950-1956 and worked at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant. Doyle was a proud American Veteran and a longtime member of the American Legion Post #60 in Logansport, IN. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski.

Doyle was a lifelong farmer who worked hard throughout his life. He was employed at the Thornhope Elevator for many years before taking a laborer position at RCA in Monticello, IN where he met his future wife, Joyce D. Poenix. On July 19, 1969, Doyle and Joyce were married in Watseka, IL. Doyle spent over 20 years at Wilson Foods in Logansport before retiring in 1992 and returning to farming.

Doyle was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed horseshoe pitching and listening to country & blue grass music.
