Doyle Taffer

Doyle Taffer, 81, passed away on May 29, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 31, 1943 to the late Ardle and Nellie Shelton Taffer.
Doyle enjoyed coon hunting, and was a farmer, raising tobacco and cattle. He also enjoyed hunting for ginseng. He retired from Cheney Bigelow and Madison County Solid Waste. Doyle was a trustee at Ivy Ridge Church of God and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Loraine Taffer; a great granddaughter, Rilyn Ferguson; and sisters, Beatrice Edmonds and Irene Banks.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Mary Moss Taffer; daughters, Kay Garrison (Terry) and Brenda English (Scotty); sons, Jimmy Taffer (Tonja) and Greg Taffer (Lesa) and Lukus Hyatt; grandchildren, Hannah Beaver (Chad), Levy Roberts (Megan), Jesse Roberts (Elizabeth), Tiffani Ferguson (Drew), Robert Taffer (Samantha) and Tanya Mullis (Joey); great grandchildren, Lane and Josie Beaver, Emma and Macie Roberts, Kie and Mary Lane Roberts, Cooper, Colt, and Cada Ferguson, Sawyer and Titus Taffer, Jonathan, Addison and Sadie Mullis; brothers, Landon Taffer (Evon), and Lwood Taffer (Patsy).
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Ivy Ridge First Church of God. Reverends Doyle Lloyd and Robert Taffer will officiate. Burial will follow in the First Church of God - Ivy Ridge Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Terry Garrison, Scotty English, Drew Ferguson, Lukus Hyatt, Josh Moore, James Shelton, Buster Norton, Jesse Roberts.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
