Dr. Bruce Allan Earnest, Jr. entered the more immediate presence of his Savior on July 31, 2024. Bruce was born on September 30, 1969, in Southbridge, Massachusetts, to Bruce Allan Earnest, Sr. and Margaret Theresa Earnest (née Tarquinio.)
Bruce held a lifelong passion for all things musical. Whether singing, directing, conducting, producing, teaching, overseeing, funding musical endeavors, or mentoring young musicians, Bruce excelled in all areas of music. Over the years, his students have gone onto national and international stages with his constant encouragement. Dr. Earnest also had a passion for all things German, specifically Bavarian. He ended his lifelong career serving as the Executive Director of the Moravian Music Foundation in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and teaching part-time at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. His work at the Moravian Music Foundation was the culmination of all his loves: God, music, and German language and culture skills.
Bruce’s deepest love was reserved for his two children, Lukas Rex and Rosalie Mae, both of Kernersville, North Carolina, by whom he is survived. He is also survived by his brother, Brian Earnest of Florida.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 17, at Calvary Moravian Church of Winston-Salem. A private graveside service in God’s Acre will be held prior for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Moravian Music Foundation in Bruce Earnest, Jr.’s memory.
