Dr. Lynn Cupkie Obituary
Dr. Lynn F. Cupkie, age 84 of Nisswa, MN and formerly of Perham, MN, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Brainerd, MN.
Lynn was born in St. Paul, MN on September 5, 1941, to Carl and Helen (Wurm) Cupkie. He completed high school in the St. Paul area and went on to further his education, completing his doctorate degree in psychology, becoming Dr. Lynn Frederick Cupkie.
He married the love of his life Margaret “Peggy” Panhorst on October 7, 1989. Lynn and Peggy were married just shy of 36 years together.
Lynn spent much of his time fishing, hunting, caring for others, and truly valued education. He was known to give others “ a hand up, not a hand out.” He loved traveling especially to one of his favorite places, Quetico, Canada. He enjoyed cooking, and watching the sunsets.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Todd (Holly) Cupkie; daughter, Michelle (Jameson) Smith; his grandchildren, Marcus Cupkie, Gage Dulski, Josh Weisenborn and Aidan Weisenborn; and his siblings. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen Cupkie.
In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in Lynn’s name.
Visitation will be 1:00-4:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 3:30 on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, MN.
