Olson Funeral & CremationJoyce Hilde, passed away peacefully at her daughter and son-in-law's home on March 14, 2026. She was born June 16, 1933, in Oakes, ND, the eldest daughter of Orville and Marion Isley. Joyce grew up on the family's Verona View Farm and attended school in Verona, where she was a standout basketball player on a team that competed at the state tournament.
Following high school, Joyce moved to Fargo to attend college and work. However, she soon decided to marry the love of her life, Roy Hilde. The couple eloped in Sisseton, SD, on December 17, 1951. Together, they settled into life on the family farm, where Joyce embraced her role as a dedicated homemaker and mother of four, staying involved in church and school activities.
In 1967, the family moved to Moorhead, MN. Whole continuing to manage the home, Joyce also served her community through healthcare roles as a nurse's aide and anesthesia assistant. In 2000, she and Roy moved to Fergus Falls to be closer to family.
Joyce was an active member of the community and was a faithful congregant at Calvary Free Lutheran Church.
Following Roy's passing, Joyce remained in their home until moving to Mill Street Residence in 2023. There, she enjoyed a vibrant final chapter filled with great fellowship, new friends, good food, and many rounds of bingo.
Joyce is survived by her children, Debra (Tom) DeBrito of Fergus Falls, William (Kaki) Hilde of Denton, TX, and Richard (Kim) Hilde of Milford, IA. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her son, Mitchell; her parents, Orville and Marion Isley, and her infant sister, Mary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Calvary Free Lutheran Women's Missions and Quilters, Fergus Falls.
