DREXEL EARL Obituary
Drexel is survived by his children: Coleen (Arnie) Klepenko of Mohnton, Pa., Delsie (John) Zdanowicz of Camp Hill and John (Vickie) Earl of Troupsburg, N.Y.; grandchildren: Ashley (Austin) High, Lindsey (Nate) Reider, Kami (James) Devanna, Andrew (Liz) Zdanowicz, and Dalton (Shayna) Earl; great-grandchildren: Lakelynn, Adalyn and Elayna Reider, Ivanna and Callum High, and Jack Zdanowicz. Drexel is also survived by his sisters, Doretta (Fernley) Leach and Brenda Ransom; brother-in-law, Charles Bryant, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Harold and Agnes (Nelson) Swayne; brother-in-law, Theodore (Cub) Ransom and sister-in-law, Beverly (Swayne) Bryant.
A 1950 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School in Knoxville, Drex began his career at Consolidated Natural Gas and retired in 1992. He was a corporal in the US Army from 1953-55 serving in the military police in Trieste, Italy. He was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church, a life member of the Westfield Rod & Gun Club and American Legion Post 0519. He instructed First Aid and CPR for many years. Drexel loved spending time caring for his farm, afternoon drives and watching for deer with his wife, hunting many types of game, competitive shooting, supporting local sports and spending time with family and friends.
Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 W. Main St., Westfield on Friday, August 22 from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, August 23 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
A memorial service will be held immediately following on Saturday at 1 p.m. Private burial will be in the Champlin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Crary Hose Company, 429 E. Main Street, Westfield, PA 16950.

My condolences to Drex and his family. We were neighbors across the street from Drex and his family. Many fond memories of him making apple cider in his driveway and eating pears off his pear tree. He took us boys down to his farm once and let us drive his old Chevy Pickup. I worked with him at the Gas Company during my summers while I was in college. Dorothy was one of my teachers in high school. He advised me on buying my first deer rifle, which I still have. I always looked up to him as a great person.
