Drill Sergeant Lester Lynn Luxich, 71, of 4044 NC 50 Hwy, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at his home.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luxich; his brother, Gary Luxich; his sister, Judy Lincoln; his wife, Joyce Luxich; and his significant other, Joann West.

Lester was a beloved husband, father, and brother who will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Lester proudly served his country as a veteran of both the United States Navy and the United States Army. He completed four years of service in the U.S. Navy and later retired from the U.S. Army. During his military career, he served with the 82nd Airborne Division and later as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he helped shape and mentor countless soldiers.

Graveside Service will be held 12:00 pm Monday, January 26, 2026, at Mount Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery at 3949 Taylors Bridge Hwy, Clinton, North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Tina Tadlock of Newton Grove and Tracey Faircloth of Dallas Texas, his brother, Stanley Luxich of Alabama; and his sister, Elaine Summers of Alabama, along with many extended family members and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the prayers, support, and condolences received during this difficult time.
