William J. Luxich

William J. Luxich passed away peacefully at home at the age of 91. Born in Elizabeth to William F. and Anne Luxich, he lived most of his life in Roselle where he and his wife Marion raised their family. Bill was a founding member and coach of Roselle's Girls Athletic League (GAL) and was a member of Roselle Catholic's Men's Club for many years.
He was an Army veteran, stationed in Germany in the late 1950s. He returned home and started his career as a lineman and installer for NJ Bell/AT&T where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1989. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his family, babysitting his grandsons when they were young, and never missing their baseball, soccer, basketball, and hockey games when they were older.
Bill enjoyed cold beer and a good cigar. He liked sitting in the sun and doing crossword puzzles. He loved Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt. He loved any and all sports, especially his Bruins, Celtics, Cardinals, and Packers. "His room" was filled with sports memorabilia and pictures of his grandchildren. There's a TV and his chair, strategically positioned to catch some sunshine in the afternoon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marion (Ulrich), and his children Maggie Donovan and her husband Kevin, Scott Luxich and his wife Lynn, and Linda Lynch and her husband Kevin. Bill was loved dearly by his grandchildren, Ian Donovan and his wife Jordy, Kyle Donovan, Kevin Luxich and his fiancé Miranda Wittman, Jack Luxich, Sean Lynch, Seamus Lynch and great-granddaughter Fiona. He is also survived by many cousins and close friends.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 28, 2025, at The Lehrer Gibilisco Funeral Home located at 275 West Milton Ave. in Rahway, NJ 07065.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Carpenter Church, 140 E 3rd Ave, Roselle, NJ 07203. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, 792 E Edgar Rd, Linden, NJ 07036.
