Mass of Christian Burial for Duaine Breyfogle, 88, of Marshall, will be Friday, October 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.
Duaine Marion Breyfogle was born on July 13, 1935, in Marshall, to Marion and Romania (VanDeVeire) Breyfogle. Duaine lived his entire life in the Marshall area. On November 24, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sharon Stassen. Duaine worked his entire life, selling cars at his company, Breyfogle Auto Sales, from the age of 14. He was proud of his business and the people he got to know through his work. Duaine loved cars, whether he was selling, racing, rebuilding, or collecting them. In his younger years, his passion was stock car racing and drag racing. Duaine was a prankster who loved to play jokes on family and friends. He was a pool shark, and he enjoyed bowling and watching the Minnesota Vikings. He also liked to go fishing, boating, and spending time with family at the cabin.
Duaine died on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by his children Greg (Terri) of Walnut Grove, Tammy (John) Winkelman of St. Cloud, Mike (Heidi Paleta) of Balaton, Jon (Sue) of Tracy, and Barb of Marshall; grandchildren Jamie (Jeremy), Julie, Cody, Nicki (Kellen), Sara (Josh), Philip, Kayla, Lizzy, Tanya (Jason), and Josh (Chelsea); great-grandchildren Alisha (Jamon), Makenna, Quinn, Jayden, Paisley, Everly, Brecken, Kasen, Kree, Paislee, Levi (Jasmine), Connor, Gracelyn, Lennox, and Julian; great-great-grandchild Peyton; siblings Bev (Doug) Copa, Don (Linda) and Ron; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, grandson Justin McClung, and sister Jan Hansen.
