A Service celebrating the life of Duane Albert Bendorf, age 81 of Waite Park, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Westwood Church, 5719 Walnut Drive, St. Cloud, MN with a gathering of family and friends following the service.
Duane was born on December 10, 1943 in Owatonna, to Lloyd and Ida Bendorf. He married Phyllis Eickhoff on May 30, 1969 in Bloomington, Minnesota. Duane was a proud Vietnam Vet serving in the Army in the 101st Airborne Artillery from 1969-1971. He enjoyed camping trips, fishing and trips to the casino. He especially loved the time spent with his family and friends.
Duane is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Bendorf, children Charlie Bendorf of Wabasha, Wendy (Todd) Parpart of Norwood, Dana (Mike) Droeger of Norwood, and Lisa Bendorf of Sartell; 6 grandchildren: Laura (Aaron) O'Gorman, Sawyer (Emily) Bendorf, Nicholas Magee, Isaac Magee, Austin Droeger, Katelyn Droeger; 3 great-grandchildren: Oakley Bendorf, Beckett Bendorf and Madilynn Bendorf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Ida Bendorf, siblings: Elaine Fischer, Marlene Tiede and Norman Bendorf, granddaughter Shyla Huber and great granddaughter Madison Huber.
A Special Thank You to the staff at St Cloud Hospital for the excellent care he received.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are preferred.
