It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duane Clark, lovingly known as "Red," who left this world on October 4, 2023, at the age of 64. Duane was born on November 11, 1958, in Louisville, KY, and was a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends.
Duane, an African American male, called Columbus, OH, his home. He was a man of integrity and dedication, known for his warm smile, compassionate nature, and remarkable work ethic. Duane was a true family man, a devoted father to his two daughters, Summer Carter and Courtney Alfred, who meant the world to him. He took immense joy in being a part of their lives, guiding and supporting them every step of the way.
Beyond being a loving father, Duane held a special place in the hearts of his three grandchildren Isaiah Carter, Lyric Willis and Janiya Davis and one great-grandson La'Bari Willis.
Family gatherings were always filled with his laughter, love, and the joy he found in their presence. He also shared a close bond with his brother, Byron Bush, and sister, Traci Clark, finding solace and friendship in their companionship. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Betty Clark and John Clark and brother Marvin Murphy.
Duane's genuine character shone through in everything he did. He had an adventurous spirit, finding joy in riding his motorcycle and exploring the open road. He was also known for mastering the art of grilling and creating mouthwatering delicacies for family and friends. Duane had an impeccable sense of style, enjoying the thrill of shopping and showcasing his unique fashion sense. He had a passion for shooting pool and spent countless hours perfecting his skills.
Professionally, Duane served as a Supervisor in the insulation industry at Edwards Mooney & Moses. His commitment to quality work and his dedication to serving his team were unmatched. His relentless work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Red loved sports; he was a Ohio State University Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers Fan.
While his departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, Duane will forever remain in our hearts. He will be remembered for his unconditional love, infectious laughter, and his relentless pursuit of joy in every moment.
Visitation 1pm and Funeral 2pm Friday October 20. 2023 at MARLAN GARY FUNERLA HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
Duane's memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandson, siblings, and companion, Stacy Lanier, as well as by his many other relatives, friends, and colleagues. His infectious spirit and profound impact on our lives will never be forgotten.
In honor of Duane's service to his country, as a proud member of the Army, we extend our deepest gratitude to him for his dedication and sacrifice.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.

I cleaned for Mr. Duane for about 6 months. I have known him for almost 8 years. He was by far the coolest human being I have ever met. I will miss our talks, our laughs, and our monthly visits. I love you D2. I know you are in God's care in no more pain.
