Duane Lee Dewalt, a dedicated family man, passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 11, 1936, Duane was originally a resident of Canal Fulton and later Massillon.

Duane's professional journey unfolded over an impressive 40-year career with Lawrence Township Road Maintenance, where he diligently worked until his retirement in 2003.

A proud alumnus of Northwest High School in Canal Fulton, Duane carried the lessons he learned during his formative years into adulthood. Known for his loving nature, Duane cherished his family and friends.

In addition to his work, Duane was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Canal Fulton. He embraced his beliefs wholeheartedly, affirming that he knew Jesus as his savior. Furthermore, Duane proudly held membership in the local Elks Lodge for 61 years, forming lasting friendships.

Duane is survived by his loving son, Randy (Jerilynn) Dewalt; sister, Janet (Don) Lybarger; granddaughter, Lauren (Tim) Applegate; grandson, Lee (Chelsea) Dewalt; nephew, Steve (Melissa) Lybarger; niece, Laura (Brian) Amison; step son Dan Biehl and stepson-in-law Drew Maser. He was preceded in death by Mary Dewalt, his wife of 36 years; parents, Leone Dewalt and Robert Dewalt, as well as his sister, Doris Grohe.

Duane's legacy will continue through his loved ones, who carry forward the kindness and love he so generously shared.

Duane is laid to rest at Union Cemetery, Located at 569 Elm St, Canal Fulton, OH 44614.
