DUANE GODDARD Duane Goddard, 81, of Sardis, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home. He was born November 27, 1943, in Sardis, a son of the late Averon and Bertha Martie Goodard. He was a retired teacher of 30 years at River High School in the Switzerland of Ohio School District and a Methodist by faith. He was always family first and enjoyed more than anything when the whole family was together. Duane stayed active with golf, bowling, walking and in his younger years, fast-pitch softball. He enjoyed woodworking and fine craftsmanship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryll Frances "Francey" Goddard and a brother, Lloyd Eugene Goddard. Survivors include a daughter, Allyson Goddard of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Andrew (Jamie) Goddard of Canal Fulton, Ohio; a sister, Donna (Sonny) Potts of Sardis; a sister-in-law, Willa Brown Goddard of Sardis; five grandchildren, Jalyn (Luke VanOrsdale) Goddard, Drew Goddard, Alex Goddard, Anna Metzger and Olivia Metzger; and his three fur babies and companions, Moe, Maulie and Baby Beast.
