Maurice Duane Haney, 81, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by family following an extended illness.
He was born on October 2, 1942, in Moore, Idaho to Maurice Evan and Clover Ione Haney. Duane was raised and lived his entire life in the Lost River Valley. At the young age of 17, Duane began working as a construction laborer and later retired as a foreman for the Labor Union. Following his retirement he began farming full time.
On November 25, 1963, he married Rose Garner and they were blessed with 3 girls and 2 boys. They were later divorced in 1982. On December 14, 1984, he married Robin Butler and they were blessed with a son. They were divorced in 2003.
Duane was a volunteer firefighter for 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses and camping with his family.
Surviving are his sons, Shawn (Ana) Haney, Shane (Bridgette) Haney and Kody (Kendra) Haney; his daughters, Jody Haney and Kris (Chris) Camphouse; 3 brothers, Jay, Jack and Rusty Haney; 1 sister, Lois Watson; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Clover; his brothers, Melvin, Darwin and Delyn Haney; his sister, Louise Thomas; his daughter Lissa Ann Haney and a grandson, Nicholas Haney.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Community Center, 3155 N. 3353 W., Moore, Idaho. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, ID and for one hour prior to the service at the community center. Interment will be in the Lost River Cemetery.
