Duane Ross May, born in Hammond, LA on December 24th, 1968, passed away at home in Livingston, LA on January 21st, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 57 years old.
Duane Ross lived a life to aspire to as a loving Christian father, Duane was known to share his faith lovingly with his friends and relatives. He was not shy about his strong love for his country, God, and his family. His 'Mr-Fix-It' persona will be sorely missed as Duane could never be idle, he would often be found in the middle of various projects, either in his personal shop or maintaining their home as the local handyman. He would never consider these tasks as 'work', but as challenges he could overcome and learn from.
He also found his challenges and adventures in the outdoors, Duane Ross loved fishing as much as he could, and enjoyed hunting trips with his brother George as well. Indoors, Duane served as a deacon of Livingston's First Baptist Church for many years. Once upon a time, he also served as alderman on the Livingston Town Council, to which he deemed one term to 'be quite enough' for his political appetite. During his later years, he was grateful for the time spent as a supervisor of Volks Constructors.
Duane Ross May is survived by his loving wife Melissa May; daughter Courtney May Werner (William Paul); son Maverick Ross May (Kailee Jallans); mother Mary May Fuentes and stepfather Doug; granddaughter Maylee Marie Werner, soon-to-be-grandson Jameson Louis Werner; brothers George May (Tammie), Steven May (Stephanie); sister Cassy May (William Bueche); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by father Dewitt Ross May and sister Kimberly Sue May.
A visitation will be held for Duane Ross on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 at the First Baptist Church Livingston - 29401 S Frost Rd, Livingston, LA 70754 beginning at 10:00 AM with a religious service to follow at 12:00.
