Duane Olson Obituary

Duane had many jobs through his life, they included hired hand, mechanic, plumber, county maintenance and city landfill.
His hobbies included hunting, riding his Harley with the Anderson boys, Mr. Tinkerer, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and sitting on his front porch watching people and traffic.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Nona; children: Noretta Olson from Mitchell, Dale and Sara Olson, and Angela & Trent Strand from Platte; and grandchildren: Lane Olson, Molly and Chris Olson, and Aspen Strand.
He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, his siblings Marlow Olson and Shirley and Earl Schoenfelder, and other brothers and sisters-in-law.
Celebration of Life for Duane Dale Olson, 85, Platte, SD will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 4 - 7 pm at Mount-Smith Funeral Home in Platte, SD.
