Duane was perhaps the most knowledgeable person in early childhood education that I ever had the privilege to know in my 40 yrs. in education. We worked together when I was an administrator at Bloomer School 1974-1981. His death is a great loss to education. Melvin Johnson, kearney, NE.

Dear Lynn and family,
My deepest sympathy to you. Duane was a very special man. I will miss him very much. He always had a smile---and very often some advice---followed, of course, by a kind word. It has been my pleasure and priveledge to care for and love Duane. Thank-you for sharing him with us. I will never forget him and how he and you have touched my life.
