Dudley Hoffman Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 25, 2025.

Dudley Curtis Hoffman Jr.-known as Curt to family and friends-passed away peacefully, at his home in Aurora, Colorado, on February 17, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 83 years old.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on January 10, 1942, Curt was the son of the late Dudley Curtis Hoffman Sr. and Jeannette Hoffman Eller. He spent much of his early life in Maryland, attending the McDonogh School before earning a degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland. His career began in Washington, D.C., where he pursued exhibit design and trade show management. It was there that he met the love of his life, Patricia, with whom he recently celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage.

Shortly after their wedding, Curt and Patricia moved to Connecticut, settling in New Hartford to be near Patricia's family. Curt designed their home, creating a warm and welcoming space, where they would raise their daughter, Sarah, and share life with their beloved dogs. He was deeply devoted to Sarah's archery journey, finding great joy in supporting her and being part of the archery community. A lifelong learner, Curt served on the Board of Education for the Northwestern Regional School District during Sarah's high school years.

In 1986, Curt and Patricia founded CHA Exhibits in Torrington, Connecticut, where they designed custom trade show displays for clients across a wide range of industries. Curt found immense fulfillment in merging his artistic vision with his engineering expertise, taking great pride in seeing his designs come to life on the showroom floor. This work took Curt and Patricia around the world, providing them with countless adventures and experiences, before they retired from the business in 2012.
