Dustin Barton McGee, age 38, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

He was born on February 11, 1987, in Columbia, Mo., a son of Sharon Acree-Frausto and Vincent Theodore McGee. He was lovingly raised by his mother and stepdad, Raul Frausto-Ramirez, spending most of his adolescence living in Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas. Growing up, Dustin shared many cherished memories with his grandma, Margaret Acree, with whom he was especially close to until her passing. Over the recent years he became re-acquainted with his father. Together they were able to create memories, working side by side on job sites and becoming the best of friends.

Being motivated by a strong work ethic from a young age, Dustin found his passion in the construction industry, following in his stepdad's footsteps. After perfecting his trade with the Painters and Drywall Union, he established his own company, D&A Construction, in 2016.

When Dustin wasn't working, he could be found in his garage rebuilding engines and transmissions. He had a true talent when it came to fixing things and working with his hands. He had plans of opening a vehicle repair garage in addition to his construction business. He also enjoyed attending concerts, music, and most of all, time with his girls- whether laughing and being silly, playing games, or making everyday moments into memories. Dustin was a talented cook and enjoyed preparing meals for his girls. He also enjoyed sketching and drawing. Generous with his time and talents, Dustin never hesitated to lend a hand to others, no matter the task. He carried many visions and plans for the future and all he wanted to accomplish.

The greatest joy in Dustin's life was found in his two daughters, Sophie and Gabby. He was a devoted, protective father who did everything in his power to ensure his girls knew they were deeply loved. From simple outings to the park, to their "everyday dates" to the gas station, to breakfasts with Sophie at Ria's, and lunches with Gabby at Golden Corral, they treasured every moment together. He was teaching his girls the art of working on cars and construction. (Gabby proudly pulling an engine from a truck and removing ceramic tile from her Grandma Sharon's house during renovations, while Sophie painted cabinets and walls alongside her dad). The three of them were inseparable, "attached at the hip", and it was never a question how much he loved them and how proud he was to be their dad.

Known to his loved ones as 'Unkie Dustin,' he held a soft spot in his heart for all who were blessed to call him uncle.

Dustin leaves behind a legacy of hard work, steady devotion, and a caring heart, all carried with a hint of orneriness that made him unique. He will be immensely missed.

Survivors include his two beautiful daughters, Sophie and Gabriella "Gabby;" mother, Sharon Acree-Frausto; father, Vincent McGee (Karla); stepfather, Raul Frausto-Ramirez; brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Grover Barton and Margaret Jane Acree, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Victor Thomas and Wilma Irene McGee; and uncle, Grover Barton "Bart" Acree, III.

We find peace in knowing they are now reunited, welcoming him with arms wide open.

Friends and family will be received from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Duke-Nelson Chapel at the Baptist Homes of Ashland, 5791 Compassion Circle, Ashland, MO 65010.

A funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the Duke-Nelson Chapel with Dr. Andy Braams officiating.

The family requests casual attire be worn at the services in honor of Dustin's laid back personality.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Dustin McGee Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
