Obituary published on Legacy.com by Avram Funeral Home - Mayville on Sep. 12, 2025.
It is with a heavy heart we announce the unexpected passing of Dustin James Walker, age 40, on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at his home in Fostoria, MI. The family will receive visitors for viewing from 3-8 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Avram Funeral Home in
Mayville, MI. Cremation and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Dustin was born on January 29, 1985 to Larry Walker and Wendy Tatro-Walker in Flint, MI.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 20 years, Sarah; children, Bryson, Reagan and Sparrow; father, Larry Walker; mother, Wendy Tatro-Walker; mother-in-law, Denise Yates; sister's, Arica and Amanda (Brek); brother and sister in law, Josh and Charity Yates; god-parents, Tim Walker and Shawn Smith; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Tannor, Miley, Sophia, Benjamin, Seth and Gavin; and many aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Dustin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Patricia (Roush) Tatro; paternal grandparents, Fay (Bud) and Lois (Westover) Walker; father-in-law, David Yates; grandpa, Wendell "Rocky" Roush; and cousin, Ronny Tatro.
Dustin attended Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose, and then went on to earn his Class A CDL from Premier TDS driving school in Indiana.
After earning his CDL, Dustin bought his first semi before he was 25. He could tell you great places to visit in every state he drove through. Dustin loved to take Sarah on the road with him when he could. As much as he loved being on the open road, he chose these last years to drive for the local dairy industry so he could be home at night with his family.
Dustin loved God, his family, and the outdoors. He hunted, kayaked, camped, and you would often find him walking around the woods. Dustin like to work on cars, watch MMA fights on Saturday nights and was always down for a "friendly" game of Euchre. He enjoyed soccer as a kid as well as football, power lifting, and church youth group all through high school. Dustin was a staunch supporter of the Constitution and preserving our inalienable rights. He loved American history, talk radio, podcasts and his many adventures as a OTR truck driver.
He was raised in the Catholic Church but he found his own way to Jesus and was baptized his Sophomore year in high school with many of his power lifting and football teammates. Some of his proudest moments were leading his team in prayer before their games and going on his mission trip to Mexico.
He will be greatly missed by his family and special friends.
In his memory, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family Discretionary fund in care of Wendy Tatro-Walker
