Arizona native Dusty William Anderson passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease; he was surrounded by the love of his family. He was 75 years old. Dusty grew up in Glendale and graduated from Glendale High School.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1971 and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He enjoyed helping others. Beginning in 1991, and for more than thirty years, he created and administered the Organization for Non-Violence Education (O. N. E., Inc.), a community-focused non-profit organization that promoted education and counseling in domestic violence and anger management.
Dusty is survived by his loving wife of almost 36 years, Kim; their children Dustin Anderson of Glendale; Megan Anderson of Glendale; Caitlin Anderson Hernandez and her husband Jacob of Avondale; Travis Anderson of Glendale; Brian Anderson of Prescott; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Dusty was best described as feisty. His passions were his family, friends, pets, and riding his Harley-Davidson. He and his children liked to do school pick-up and drop-off on his Harley. He loved to putter around in his yard, adding trees wherever he could fit them. He also liked to create tabletops, fitting wooden pieces together like a puzzle.
His family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Huger Mercy Living Center for their compassionate care of Dusty in the last months of his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dusty's memory to his team in the 2025 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's at http://act.alz.org/goto/andersonmemory
A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor Dusty's memory in the chapel at Huger Mercy Living Center, 2345 West Orangewood Avenue in Phoenix on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following. Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate their love and memories of Dusty.
