DuWaine Bristlin passed away August 22, 2025 at the age of 91, at the Pioneer Home in Fergus Falls, MN. He was born on October 20, 1993 in Bertha, Minnesota.
He has been involved in music all of his life. When he was twelve, he helped his mom during church to pump the pedals on the organ. DuWaine sang and played in several bands: Country Briars, Betty Rydell, Sherwin Litton and other great musicians.
DuWaine married LaVonne Dirks Hawksley on July 15, 1978. He and LaVonne had a DJ/Karaoke/Music business that they started in the spring of 2001. They enjoyed playing at nursing homes, special events and bars. DuWaine received a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Minnesota Rock and Country Association in 2007.
DuWaine is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Maude Mae Bristlin; brothers: David and Gordon Bristlin.
DuWaine is survived by his wife LaVonne Bristlin of Norcross, MN; daughters: Carol (Charles) Holst of Staples, MN; and Terri (Jeffrey) DeAnn Bristlin Johnston of Becker, MN; stepdaughter, Wendy Rademacher of Norcross, MN; sisters: Shirley (Robert) Dvorak of Clarissa, MN; and Sandra Arnold of Cape Coral, FL.
DuWaine had donated his body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, Minnesota with Rev. Cheryl Berg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
