Dwayne "Bulldawg" Louis Bateman, 56, of O'Fallon, IL, born on December 17, 1969, in
Belleville, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.
Dwayne enjoyed many different activities, such as stock car racing, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He was handy and a "great tinkerer," building things, turning bicycles into motorbikes, and working on and modifying cars. One of Dwayne's favorite pastimes was stock car racing; he raced in local racetracks in the area. He especially enjoyed racing with his brother, Dustin, when they were both racing and or at the track together. Dwayne really loved spending time out in the garage. He was just happy with a wrench in his hand. He loved Dale Earnhardt Jr. and later, Kyle Larson too. Dwayne was beloved by all and loved being around his friends and family and or telling jokes. Dwayne especially loved to make people smile and laugh.
Dwayne was preceded in death by one daughter, Trenadi Bateman; maternal grandparents, Louis and Mary Bateman; one sister, Tina Gould; two uncles, Clifford Bateman, John Dietz; one granddaughter, Amelia Beden; and brother/friend, Don Odell.
Left to cherish Dwayne's memory are his parents, Ron and Ruth Knerrer (nee Bateman); one daughter, BreezAnn Adams; six siblings, Terri (Clint) Yates, Dustin (Jennifer) Knerrer, Shannon Knerrer, Billy (Tracy) Knerrer, Tammy Gould, Paul Barnes; two grandchildren, Ava Bateman, Azora Beden; great-nephew, Gunner Dean; seven nieces and nephews, Aarionna (Andy), Jacklynn, Garrett (Britt), Dannicca, Tristtin, Jake, and Brody; special friend/brother, Len (Cam) Baty; and special sister/friend, Marcy (Jason) Oliver.
