Dwayne Bernicky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maupin Funeral Home - Fulton on Nov. 28, 2023.
Dwayne Scott Bernicky, 65, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 27, 2023 after battling pancreatic cancer.
On November 11, 1958, Dwayne was born to the late Robert Lee Bernicky and the late Joan (Ridgeway) Tate.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn (Pitt) Bernicky on October 20, 1984, she survives his passing.
Dwayne was always a self-employed person at heart. Prior to getting into the trucking business, he worked at G & G Land Limited in Williamsburg until 1984 when they closed. He had a hay crew or 2 for many years and he bought and sold cars to rebuild. His biggest adventure was owning and operating Bernicky Farms, where at one time he had five semis on the road.
He worked for several trucking companies including Poole, Bell Truck Rental, Next Day Motor Freight, and Arkansas Freightways, that eventually became Fed-Ex Freight. The trucking company he was most proud of was his own business, Bernicky Farms LLC, hauling cattle.
Dwayne loved Cardinal's Baseball and Kansas City Chief's Football. He was an avid collector over the years. The most important thing he collected was friends.
Along with his wife, Dwayne will be lovingly remembered by his son, Craig Bernicky of Calwood; daughter, Lori Bernicky (J.B. Winingear) of Calwood; sister, Debbie Tate (Terry) of Fulton; brother, Robert Bernicky of Williamsburg; stepsister, Candice Salmons (Charlie); grandchildren, Katie Bernicky, Haley Bernicky, Brady Bernicky, and Scott Winingear; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and the dog, Stella Marie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Peggy Bernicky, and Erlene "Posey" Mascheri; stepfather, Edward Smith Tate; and numerous other relatives.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Hibbard officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Inurnment will be at New Hope Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, New Hope Cemetery, or Donor's Choice, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Mo, 65251.
