Dwayne Jackson Obituary
Dwayne accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas. He attended and graduated from Georgetown High School. He attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. He was employed at the Georgetown Country Club and worked in the maintenance department until his health declined.
Dwayne loved the Lord and his family and his belief in the Lord was very strong and you could sense the spirit of the Lord was very strong within him. He and his grandmother, the late Mrs. Sweet enjoyed reading and discussing the Bible.
Dwayne loved his mom and they shared a bond that was tender and unbreakable. He shared a loving relationship with his Aunt Lynn and referred to her as his "buddy" and also with his Aunt Gloria and referred to her as his "go to person"
Dwayne enjoyed writing songs and would often ask strangers to give him any number and any color and could create a poem off the top of his head. He loved meeting new people and honestly had never met a stranger. He could have a conversation with anyone on any level.
Dwayne is proceeded in death by his grandparents Lenora and Herbert Jackson Sr. and his Uncle Herbert "Butta" Jackson Jr.
He is survived by his mother Dorothy Franklin, father Alex Prince, Aunts Patricia Martinez and Gloria Jackson, Cousins Brad Jackson, Chadley Ross Jackson, Sergio Martinez and Patrice Martinez plus a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Vyas, nurses and staff at Baylor Scott and White Hospital and Baylor Scott and White Cancer Center for their care and support. The family would also like to express our deepest thanks and appreciation for all the acts of love and support shown to us during this time of bereavement.

I went to school with Dwayne and I was a couple of years older. I have fond memories of a geography class we were in together. We battled each other in good sportsmanlike fun on who was tops in the class for tests and quizzes.
