Dwayne Ransom

Dwayne was born November 10, 1962, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late George W. and Gertrude M. Ransom. Dwayne attended local schools in Jacksonville graduating from Stanton High. He attended North Carolina A&T State University and later enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Dwayne spent over thirty-seven years as a Master Mechanic where he owned and operated his own business, "The Ram Automotive Service". He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at West Union Baptist Church. Dwayne took his salvation seriously and would always speak of his love for Jesus Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Brian and Julian Ransom; daughters, Delisha Ransom, Dimonueq Miller and Tenay Delifus and adopted daughter Shanay Zackery; ten grandchildren; brothers, Darryl, Ronald (Vonda), Rodney (Shantoria) Ransom; (preceded in death, George W. Ransom, Jr. "Pete"); sister, Vicky (Sherman) Hopkins; uncles, Lavern Ransom, Fredrick Jones, and Michael French; aunts, Clara Hicks, Hattie Ransom, Jean Jones, Jewell Mitchell; godparents, Howard and Nancy Alderman, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends, among them devoted friend Yvonne Zackery.

Mr. Ransom may be viewed on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Carthage Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Logan Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204, and the interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
