Lois Irene Driggers, 92, of Lake Butler Florida, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at Haven Hospice E. T. York Care Center. A dedicated homemaker & lifelong learner, Irenes near century-long life was marked by service to her family & community.

Born on March 15, 1933, in Lake Butler, Florida, Irene was the daughter of John & Lois Smith. From her earliest years, she displayed a sharp mind, an independent spirit, a passion for knowledge that would guide her throughout her life & a natural affinity for animals, especially dogs.

She belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Lake Butler. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Irene found joy in building a family. With 3 children, Irene was a busy housewife & spent most of her time ensuring her 3 children received a well-rounded education with dance, scouting, & different sport programs.

She was loved dearly by her family and remembered by those who knew her as a woman who gave selfless support to her children & those around her. She is survived by her son Everett, granddaughter Hilah, & grandsons Eric & Joseph.

Irene was predeceased by her parents; Her husband Donald Driggers-eldest daughter Donita Flughum, son Johnny Driggers & other beloved family members.

I am so sorry to hear of Irene's passing. I worked for Donald in the TV business back in the early 60's. Irene was always around bringing us coffee, drinks and food. She was a pleasure to be around. She will certainly be missed by her friends and family. She was a sweet lady.
